How to Choose a Great Wellness Coach

February 25th, 2008    Google Reader or Homepage Add to My Yahoo! Solosub

If you have decided upon using a wellness coach to help you achieve success within your life, you may want to learn a few tips on choosing someone with the right personal coaching skills. Here are a few tips which will help you choose a great coach!

• Spend a bit of time with each coach you are pursuing, whether you are talking with them on the telephone or meeting them in person. It is important to determine whether you feel comfortable with them and whether they have a personality that you can mesh well with. You will not be successful in a coaching relationship if you are uncomfortable with your wellness coach.

• Find out a bit about their methods. You want to be sure that you’re going to be in agreement with their tactics and methods and that you will feel comfortable with these methods. In order for you to be successful with personal coaching, you will need to feel fine with every part of their coaching methods.

• You may want to check references. Without giving away specific details of the coaching, someone can tell you whether they have had success with the coach or if they were dissatisfied. When you check references, you can get an idea of the personal success that the wellness coach has had with other clients, and that may give you some personal insight as to whether or not this is the right coach for you.

• Be completely honest with the coach as to what you are experiencing. If you’re not sure yet whether you want to hire them, give them a good description without giving away all of your problems. This will help them determine whether they are able to help you or if you should seek other help.

There are many benefits to a wellness coach and the right one can really help you feel better, happier and more complete in life. The point is to find the right one, and with these tips you can!

What is a Wellness Coach?

Are you familiar with the term ‘wellness coach?’ If not, you should know that a wellness coach is simply a person who works together with you in order to find the things that will make you happy within your career and personal life. This person should be skilled in personal coaching and is able to help you not only find the things which will make you happy, but figure out how to reach them through goals, strategic moves and more. Through these methods, you are able to become a happier, more successful and well adjusted person.

A wellness coach uses his or her personal coaching skills to work together with you. It is more like a friend who has tons of good advice rather than a ‘coach,’ and many times there is a genuine friendship that develops from a coaching relationship. Within this comfortable relationship, you are able to determine exactly what would make you happier and what your level of success would be defined as. A coach doesn’t tell you what you need to do. You determine that, but a coach can help you take a deeper look at yourself and your feelings in order to determine what you need to do. These personal coaching techniques have helped many people who thought they were destined to be unhappy in life.

A wellness coach will not only help you determine what would make you happy, but he or she will then help you create a plan in order to achieve your desired success. Your success could mean creating a better relationship with your spouse, create a better career for yourself or even to just feel better within your spiritual life. There are a number of things that a coach can help you with, and it all depends upon what kind of person you are and on your unique feelings and thoughts. Regardless of who you are or where you come from, sometimes you just need a little extra support in order to find that glowing, happy person inside of you! This is exactly what you can find when you speak with a wellness coach!

Feeling Empty? Consider a Spiritual Coach

February 22nd, 2008    Google Reader or Homepage Add to My Yahoo! Solosub

Spirituality is the feeling that life is more important than just the everyday hustle and bustle of our lives. It is the feeling that we may be here for a purpose and the feeling of a connection with something higher. Without this feeling, we experience a disconnection or a feeling like we are alone, even when others are there that we love and care about. A spiritual coach can help with this feeling. A spiritual coach is simply an individual with personal coaching skills who can help you achieve the spiritual success that you desire.

A coach that specializes in this kind of situation can also help you with career and family issues that may be caused by your spiritual issues. In fact, feeling disconnected and alone can make you feel as if you are unable to achieve success in many different areas of your life. Working with a coach to come up with the answers to your problems as well as the actions and goals that should be made will help you get started on a journey to a new life and a new happiness. This is something that no one should be denied, and you don’t have to either. The relationship between a personal coach and his or her client is simply like a friendship or a team. A spiritual coach is not like a therapist or even like a religious coach.

Quite simply, the two of you work together in order to create effective goals and strategies which will help you overcome the issues that you are struggling with. Personal coaching has benefited many, many individuals and if you are feeling disconnected, sluggish within your life, or discontent, you may benefit from the help of a personal coach.

Have You Considered a Spiritual Coach?

If you’ve heard the term ’spiritual coach,‘ you may have thought of an older woman with gypsy clothing and fortune telling cards. While this is an amusing image, it is most definitely not the real definition for what this kind of coach is. In fact, it is simply and individual with personal coaching skills that can help you discover what you may feel is missing within your spiritual life. Keep in mind that spiritual doesn’t mean religious necessarily; spiritual is simply the feeling that there is something else out there!

Typically, a spiritual coach will work with you, using different methods and techniques that have been proven reliable in order to address the issues that are bothering you. The whole point of having someone with these types of skills is to help you feel better within your spiritual life. This is a very sensitive issue to many people and some people become depressed or feel like something is just missing from their lives when they don’t have an active spiritual life. A spiritual coach can help you rediscover those things within yourself and help you find the unique strategies and methods that you can use to work on these feelings that you have. Someone with personal coaching experience is the best kind of person to work together with you in order to address these issues.

Spiritual coaches are very helpful to those who feel as if they are lacking in a spiritual way, or even that this may be affecting their career lives or their personal lives. In fact, it is enough to make you feel as if you can’t fight the waves of frustration, depression and insecurity. If you have considered a spiritual coach but haven’t been sure just what you might find in that person, don’t worry. The truth is you just might be able to find yourself.

Zoned and Loving It!

December 17th, 2007    Google Reader or Homepage Add to My Yahoo! Solosub

Perhaps recently someone asked you “How are you doing?”, and for the first time you just felt like telling them the absolute truth: “I don’t really know!” The days just do not have that special zip anymore. Did you stop to wonder why?  Like many people today stressful, busy world, you may be struggling with the uncertainty of your life’s direction. You know when you were younger you had dreams and aspirations.  Now, with the passing of time, most are just memories that lay unfulfilled in the nostalgic walk through your past.  Do you see your world as one big boring routine that never ends?  Are you feeling like the balance in your life is off and getting worse?  Think of how many times you have reassured yourself that today I’m going to change the way I do things! You try, but fall mercilessly short of your intended goal.  Well, the truth is you are not alone! This “Ferris Wheel” existence doesn’t take you anywhere and you know it.  As time goes on, you realize that this isn’t satisfying anymore.  But what do you do about it?  Well, maybe it’s time to take a fresh look at your world from a different angle.  Maybe it’s time to get a whole life coach. Maybe it’s time to get “zoned.”  I know, because I finally did and so can you.

According to Dr. Costas Karageorghis, lecturer in sport psychology at Brunel University, United Kingdom, “Flow State is an optimal psychological experience.  It’s when you’re functioning on auto-pilot, when everything clicks into place and goes right.”  This study, performed on athletes, gives us an insight into how we can utilize the psyche to optimize performance by examining how they thought and how they felt before a major race. “It’s a deeply pleasurable experience and it’s something that’s not very often experienced by people.  Rather it’s something that often represents people’s peak experiences in a particular area,” Doctor Karageorghis notes.  Stop for a moment and recall from your own life when you just knew the decision you were about to make was the right one.  You knew it had to be right because you didn’t experience the usual fears, anxiety or doubt. Instead, you experienced an elation to see, without surprise, the anticipated result.  The sheer confidence, positive attitude and dogged diligence drove you to see your desired goal through to fruition.Simply stated, reprogram your thinking and apply the “I-Can-Do-It Attitude” to everything you set your mind to achieve and it will be done.  Sure, didn’t your earlier success prove that?  Clearly the successes of so many of the athletes in this study and some of the greatest human beings past and present are highlighted by defining, focusing and executing your goals.   The results naturally follow.  Just stating your goals will never bring it to you!  It is said that “If you change the way you see things, then the things you see will change”.  All the choices you are making suddenly draw the right people, opportunities and events your way effortlessly.  This renewed way of viewing things slowly eliminates the usual feelings of fear of failure or success, doubts and anxieties.  It replaces them with this solid “Can’t Fail” attitude.   This incredible sense of knowing and awareness lights your path and allows you to make clearer decisions for superior performances for both personal and professional successes.  So how can we create and maintain a state of being “zoned” in our own lives? How can our ordinary world become extraordinary?  Maybe it begins with changing our belief system and whole life coaching to the mix.  Like a jigsaw puzzle, we can allow ourselves to see the “Big Picture” first in our mind and then commit to changing it one piece at a time.   These basic observations may be the start of something spectacular.  Only you can decide where they may take you.  Remember, you can always choose another path. Here are three helpful reflections to start your own process:1.      Know Thyself” – A quote from Socrates that has set the standard for us to truly examine our quality of existence.  Also consider “To thine own self be true,” another quote from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet.  Both quotes provide keys for being true to yourself and building on that truth with every choice you make.  Always knowing what are your strengths, weaknesses, preferences, values and purpose.  Applying this knowledge to your plan of action and strategies to obtain your goals.  Repeating positive steps you will take in your life that will always bring you closer to your desires.  You will continue to feel empowered in your professional, social and personal life and will continue to create unlimited successes.2.      You are and always will be in control, and nothing external can be more powerful.  Consciously select yourself to be the key motivator of all your actions and choices; don’t expect others to be or do it for you.  Remember, the world exists by design and life is what it is, but you are the one with the power to make your part in it the very best it can be.  Think, act and do your part to make it so.3.      The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. By taking that first step with this different outlook you are ensuring a positively different outcome moving in a better direction.  Change is constant and the only guarantee you have is the choice of creating such a change.  Not only are your thoughts, what you say and what you do critical to your results, they are the surest way of making things happen.  The quality of your life, like your home and every room in it, can be changed with seeing what each can be.  Don’t just yank all the furniture out, but replace it piece by piece, taking the time to gain a new and improved environment for life.  Pretty soon, with simple adjustments in your behavior, it will all come together.  It worked for me!  Now, isn’t it time you tried something new and different?

Work/Life Strategies to Your Personal Development Rescue!

Personal development is extremely important to our sense of well being and our quality of life. When we feel as though we are ‘in a rut’ or left behind in some areas, we can really have negative feelings attached to it. Whole life coaching is something that many people are turning to in order to create a more positive life and a better quality of life. When we work on personal development in different areas of our lives, we are able to create positive changes and achieve goals.

One of the most important types of personal development is the work/life strategy. If an employee works toward creating positive and attainable goals within his personal life, he improves his career life as well. It works the other way too. This is why many different companies are choosing to provide whole life coaching experts to their employees. There are many benefits to be gained by the employer who chooses to do this. His or her employees will learn better strategies and ways to achieve personal and career related goals. They will also learn how to develop those goals, depending upon what they are hoping to achieve in their careers and personal lives.

Employees who are able to take advantage of whole life coaching learn how to be well rounded, and how to deal with different areas of their lives more effectively. Some of the strategies that they may learn to handle career related issues are effective communication, goal setting, and time strategies. These are just a few of the things that employees can gain from whole life coaching. There are many more. Employers who provide this kind of excellent program for their employees are able to have better competitive offers to employees, more efficient employees, and employees who are better able to handle the demands of their career.

Those who work on personal development within their personal lives learn many things as well. Whole life coaching pairs a trained, experienced life coach with the individual. This trusting partnership results in many positive things. The whole life coach can show the individual how to find his or her own personal level of success. Once they have worked together to achieve this, they are able to work on determining attainable goals based on what the individual wants to achieve. The benefits of personal development in this area of an individual’s life are very important as well. They are able to learn how to achieve the kind of positive relationships that they want with their families, partners, and friends. They also learn the benefits of taking care of themselves and being happy with themselves first. Whole life coaching is one of the best ways to learn personal development and to better the quality of an individual’s life, whether it’s a work/life strategy or a personal area that needs an extra boost. If you have considered whole life coaching for yourself, or to offer to your employees, you should know that the benefits will far outweigh the time and money invested. It can be a great resource for employers and employees alike.

Spirituality is something that is very deep and personal to us all. Our well being is the general emotional feelings we have about our lives, including our careers, spiritual lives, and other personal areas. Whole life coaching is a great way to focus on our personal development in these areas. A great whole life coach will focus on what’s important in your life and help you find direction and happiness in those specific areas. When you have done this, your overall happiness is improved.

Spirituality:

It can be very difficult to feel lost or overwhelmed in your spirituality. With such a complex subject, knowing how to approach this area is frustrating. Whole life coaching can help with the personal development in the spiritual part of your life. By creating a partnership with a whole life coach who is concerned for the happiness and direction you have in your life, you are able to control the quality of your life. By determining what your personal definition of happiness is, you are able to work with your life coach to achieve that happiness.

Well Being:

Our perception of our well-being can often be directly attributed to the health of our spirituality. When we feel lost, overwhelmed or frustrated all of the time, the stress can take a huge toll on our well-being. However, this can be changed. Whole life coaching teaches individuals to create positive changes and attainable goals. By determining the approaches and methods needed to reach these goals, you can further your personal development. When you are able to master this area in your life, it will create a healthier career life, personal life, and overall well-being.

Employers:

By providing whole life coaching for employees to further their personal development, employers are able to gain various benefits. When an employee is motivated in his spiritual life, it will show through in all areas of his life. A whole life coach that can help employees who desire change is an enormous benefit within a company. Employees appreciate the care given to them by their employer, and they are a happier, more successful employee. The benefits that they gain from working on their personal development and whole life coaching are massive. Not only can the employer retain better employees and have a better team, but they are able to be proud of the stronger, healthier employees.

Creating a Healthy Career Today

December 11th, 2007    Google Reader or Homepage Add to My Yahoo! Solosub

Your career is one of the most important elements of your life. There are many things that need to be balanced when it comes to your career. Whole life coaching focuses on helping an individual to balance these things in order to move forward in personal development. Many people feel stressed, frustrated, and discouraged with their career lives. Often they are not sure if they are in the right career field, or if they are able to continue with their chosen career when they seem to be spinning their wheels. These are common feelings, and a whole life coach has experience in dealing with the underlying issues which create these feelings.

The key to proper whole life coaching is to focus on each individual part of a person’s life in order to maintain and improve the whole. Personal development depends upon this type of approach. In a career, an individual needs to develop skills that will allow them to succeed and improve their working lives. Some of those things are:

Communication Skills – When good communication is lacking, it can leave an individual feeling lost and frustrated. Whole life coaching focuses on personal development and learning new behaviors. Often, he or she has no idea that they are lacking the ability to use or pick up on communication skills. A whole life coach has been trained to recognize these problems and shed some light on them for the individual. By realizing that there is a problem, the whole life coach and the individual can deal with the issues that cause the problem.

Time Management Skills – By focusing on learning new skills through whole life coaching, an individual is able to learn valuable things, such as time management skills. If an individual is lacking in valuable skills such as this, he or she can become very stressed out trying to keep up with life. This can lead to him or her becoming very discouraged. Along with other issues, this stress can be damaging to the individual. Personal development is key, and learning skills like these can really benefit an individual.

Dealing With Existing Issues – Often, an individual has issues with his or her career that he or she doesn’t realize are there. Whole life coaching is beneficial in this area because the coach is trained to recognize and address issues like these. By recognizing them, accepting them, changing them, or eliminating them, an individual is really able to strengthen his or her personal development.

There are many different reasons for someone to pursue whole life coaching. Personal development, achieving goals, having a successful career, a successful marriage and family, and many other things are reasons to get some help. You do not have to constantly feel stressed, frustrated, and like a failure. The truth is that by eliminating these stressors, we are happier, healthier, and more productive. A whole life coach can really be a lifesaver to an individual experiencing these feelings.
